Storm water

Comprehensive solutions for storm water management

Increasing in recent years, extreme weather phenomena such as heavy rain or prolonged rainfall confirmed that sewage networks are not adapted to receive excess storm water. Flooding has become common, which result in flooded roads, park cars, basements, garages ... According to the forecasts,  these phenomena will increase, and at the same time become less predictable.
Uponor Infra storm water system may solve the problem. The retention systems (pipes, fittings, tanks, manholes, chambers and other unusual elements) are a simple solution to handle surplus water, which can prevent or at least significantly mitigate the risk of local flooding with the optimum use of the terrain and the existing sewage network. All thanks to the special features resulting from the construction, joining methods and advantages of polyethylene from which they are made.

Advantages of retention systems

  • unfailing service and 100% leak-free operation
  • absolute resistance to corrosion and high resistance to chemicals
  • unique combination of strength and flexibility
  • exceptional abrasion resistance
  • lightweight (easy transport and unloading)
  • quick and easy installation, even in winter conditions
  • can be used in road lanes and underneath parking lots
  • possibility of foundation also in difficult soil and water conditions

How to deal with the rain?

We can't stop the rain, but we have ways to deal with it. See the production of our retention systems starting from the pipe production, through manholes, tanks and other prefabricated elements.  The next stage is the installation of these elements on the construction site. Here we presented the assembly of the intelligent storm water system on our project in Rzeszów at the Budziwój housing estate.

Smart retention system

A new 26-kilometer storm water network was built in the Budziwój estate in Rzeszów with the use of a sewage retention canal. The storm water system was laid on a fragment of the floodplain terrace of the Wisłok River in an area of 632 ha. Weholite pipes and fittings as well as retention tanks with a capacity of almost 10,000 m3 were used in the project. These tanks have been equipped with an intelligent retention management system, thanks to which it will be possible to monitor the water level on an ongoing basis.
