III Conference Underground Infrastructure of Urbanized Areas. Application of PEHD systems.
The next 3rd Conference of Underground Infrastructure of Urbanized Areas - Application of PEHD systems has been completed. The event, organized by Uponor Infra and Municipal water supply and sewage company of Rzeszów, took place on September 20 in the capital of Podkarpacie voivodship.
As part of two thematic sessions, six experts from both the scientific community and industry experts shared their experiences. About reliable polyethylene systems, as a response to the growing expectations resulting from the rapid development of infrastructure in urban areas, said Paweł Pill, a technical adviser at Uponor Infra.
Warsaw University of Technology (Faculty of Building Installations, Hydrotechnics, and Environmental Engineering) was represented by dr Apoloniusz Kodura, who prepared the speech entitled "A good half concept of success - meaning the importance of concepts in the process of water and sewage network implementation". Dr. Krzysztof Wrzosek on the example of the Żelazny Most mining waste neutralization facility explained the issues related to the use of polyethylene pipes and materials for atypical and demanding media in difficult terrain conditions.
During the Conference, the scientific community was represented also by the Rzeszów University of Technology (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Architecture). The analysis of pipe material solutions in the aspect of the construction of sewage retention systems was presented by prof. Daniel Słyś, and prof. Józef Dziopak in his speech talked about effective ways to expand sewerage systems, including wastewater retention. Importantly, all the representatives of the universities present at the Conference take an active part in projects related to underground infrastructure implemented in Poland.
The presentation prepared by Simon Thomas, the managing director of Asset International Ltd. and Paweł Pill - concerning the most interesting aspects of the construction of Lee Tunnel collectors in London in PEHD Weholite technology enjoyed great interest. After both sessions, the participants had time to ask questions, discuss and exchange of views. In the end, Uponor Infra service group prepared a show of assembly of Weholite extrusion welding.
Summing up the meeting, Edyta Zalewska called for everyone involved in the investment process to take care of the money invested in the underground infrastructure and to control and test the supplied materials.
